Abstract: Over rational surfaces, we consider Le Potier's strange duality conjecture where one of the two moduli spaces is the Hilbert scheme of points. We approach this problem using Marian-Oprea's ideas over curves, via Grothendieck's Quot schemes. Part of the problem is reduced to showing that certain Quot schemes are finite and reduced when expected to be. The next step is to enumerate these finite Quot schemes. The key ingredients are Gaeta resolutions and the moduli space of limit stable pairs. This is joint work with Thomas Goller.
