Abstract

After briefly reviewing the notion of innermost stable circular orbit (ISCO) in Kerr black holes, I will discuss their existence and main properties in AdS Schwarzschild black holes, including their interpretation as meta-stable states in the dual theory due to non-perturbative effects on the curvature of the boundary theory and their relation to the bootstrap program and results in the CFT. Time permitting, I will describe how these localised bulk particles are placed on their orbits from integrated operators in the boundary theory.
