Title: A stacky approach to linearisation of non-resonant vector fields
Abstract: Whilst studying differential equations, Henri Poincar\'{e} showed that, given any non-resonant vector field $\partial$, there exists a formal change of coordinates such that $\partial$ can be locally expressed in a particularly simple linear form $\sum_i c_i \, x_i \partial / \partial x_i$, for some scalars $c_i$. By employing a stack-theoretic approach, together with some deformation theory, we reprove the above theorem in a purely algebraic context, extending the result to singular varieties.

Title: On Smooth Projective Manifolds with Topological Circle Bundle Structures
Abstract: One of Yau’s conjectures (ICCM 2013) says that canonically polarized complex projective manifolds do not admit nontrivial topological $S^1$-actions. In this talk, I will give a discussion on projective manifolds with topological $S^1$-actions, and show that canonically polarized complex projective manifolds do not admit free topological $S^1$-actions if their Albanese varieties are simple.

Title: On structures and discrepancies of klt Calabi-Yau pairs
Abstract: In this talk I will show that the discrepancies of log centers of all klt Calabi--Yau varieties with fixed dimension are in a finite set. I also show how minimal model program facilitates to construct rationally connected fibration structures on log Calabi--Yau pairs. This provides an alternative proof of Cao--H\"oring's structure theorem for Calabi--Yau cases.

Title: Beyond the movable cone
Abstract: Morrison proposed a version of the cone conjecture for the nef cones of Calabi-Yau manifolds which was inspired by mirror symmetry. Later in his paper "Beyond the Kähler cone", he proposed a movable cone conjecture. The two cone conjectures were generalized by Kawamata and by Totaro from the viewpoint of birational geometry. In the last section of the same paper, Morrison suggested to go "beyond the movable cone". In this talk, I will explain such an attempt based on the joint work with Cécile Gachet, Hsueh-Yung Lin and Isabel Stenger.

Abstract: A klt-trivial fibration is a kind of fibration which often appears in birational geometry. Title: Rational weighted projective hypersurfaces
Abstract: Very general hypersurfaces in complex projective space (of dimension at least 3) are expected to be rational if and only if the degree is at most 2. T. Okada gave a similar "small degree condition" for weighted hypersurfaces that guarantees rationality and he proved that it is actually equivalent to rationality for a very general terminal quasismooth weighted hypersurface in dimension 3. In this talk, I'll show that there are rational examples in higher dimensions that don't satisfy this degree criterion. Along the way, I'll introduce two new rationality constructions for these hypersurfaces, which work over any field.

Title: Distribution, Height Density, and Propagation of Rational Points on Algebraic Varieties
Abstract: I will start by describing a 30-year old trichotomy conjecture for the height density of rational points on varieties. I will then explain how it suggests various orbit propagation conjectures asserting, roughly, that a single Zariski dense orbit of rational points implies the existence of many such orbits. Title: K-stability and Products of K-moduli spaces
Abstract: In recent years, K-stability has made extraordinary progress in constructing moduli spaces of Fano varieties and log Fano pairs. This construction, however, is not explicit, and needs to be studied on a case-by-case basis to explicitly describe specific examples of moduli spaces for Fano varieties. In this talk I will give a brief introduction to K-stability, and describe the local and global structures and properties of the K-moduli space of products of Fano varieties. I will then provide a method to study K-moduli spaces of products of Fano varieties. I will demonstrate that a connected component of the K-moduli stack that contains a product, must only contain product Fano varieties. I will also demonstrate that there exists a well-defined morphism from the product of K-moduli stacks of Fano varieties to the K-moduli stack of their product and show that it is an isomorphism under specific conditions. Using this I will present some explicit examples of reduced connected components of the K-moduli stack of Fano threefolds, and log Fano pairs.

Title: Mixed characteristic analogues of F-injective and Du Bois singularities
Abstract: Singularities are measured in different ways in characteristic zero, positive characteristic, and mixed characteristic. However, the classes of singularities usually form groups with similar properties, with an example of such a group being klt, strongly F-regular and BCM-regular. In this talk we shall focus on a mixed characteristic counterpart of F-injective and Du Bois singularities. We will see that the three have a unified description and satisfy many expected properties.

Title: Irregular threefolds with nef anticanonical divisors in positive characteristic.
Abstract: The positivity of anticanonical divisors imposes strong constraints on the geometry of algebraic varieties. Over the complex numbers, it has been proven that the Albanese morphism of varieties with nef anticanonical divisors are isotrivial fibrations. Similar results have been established in positive characteristic, provided that the fibers have good singularities. In this talk, I will present our recent results on the structures of Albanese morphisms for varieties with nef anticanonical divisors, given these morphisms have relative dimension 1 and the anticanonical divisors are relatively ample. This is a joint work with Tongji Gao and Lei Zhang.

Abstract: Contact loci are sets of arcs on a variety with prescribed contact order along a fixed subvariety. They appear in motivic integration, where motivic zeta functions are generating series for classes of contact loci in appropriate Grothendieck groups. Title: On rationality of real conic bundle threefolds
Abstract: For threefolds over the complex numbers, much is understood about the rationality problem, i.e. the property of being birational to projective space. However, much less is known over fields that are not algebraically closed. For example, a threefold defined over the real numbers could become rational after base changing to C, but in general, the complex rationality construction may not descend to R. Title: Complex cobordisms, theta divisors and permutohedra
Abstract: From the work of S.P. Novikov’s school in 1960s it was known that the logarithm of the formal group in complex cobordisms can be written explicitly in terms of the complex projective spaces, but the algebro-geometric nature of the coefficients of the corresponding exponential was not clear until recently. In the talk I will explain that the answer can be given by the smooth theta divisors of principally polarised abelian varieties. We will see also interesting relations between the theta divisors, permutohedral varieties and Tomei manifolds from the integrable Toda lattice theory. The talk is based on joint works with V.M. Buchstaber.

Title: Birational geometry of del Pezzo surfaces
Abstract: Alongside with conic bundles, del Pezzo surfaces are possible outcomes of the Minimal Model Program ran on a geometrically rational surface. Thus, many questions about birational geometry and birational automorphisms of geometrically rational surfaces reduce to similar questions for del Pezzo surfaces. Title:Varieties with large index
Abstract: It is attractive to classify Fano varieties with various types of singularities that originated from the minimal model program. For a Fano variety, the Fano index is the largest integer m such that the anti-canonical divisor is Q-linearly equivalent to m times some Weil divisor. For Fano varieties of various singularities, I show the Fano indexes can grow double exponentially with respect to the dimension. Those examples are also conjecturally optimal and have a close connection with Calabi-Yau varieties of extreme behavior.

Title: Boundedness of klt complements on Fano fibrations over surfaces
Abstract: The theory of complements was introduced by Shokurov when he investigated log flips on threefolds, which turns out to be a very powerful tool in birational geometry. For a Fano fibration from X to Z with X being $\epsilon$-log canonical, Shokurov proposed a conjecture on the boundedness of klt complements, i.e. the existence of klt n-complements for some bounded natural number n. When Z is a point or a curve, this conjecture was proved by Birkar. In this talk, I will discuss my recent work on the boundedness of klt complements on Fano fibrations over surfaces.

Title: Birational modifications of elliptic Calabi-Yau degenerations
Abstract: In this talk, upon discussing aspects of the string landscape, I will motivate and introduce a program for birationally characterizing the infinite-distance degenerations of compact elliptic Calabi-Yau varieties, described in a Weierstrass form. Title: The algebra of symmetric tensors on smooth projective varieties
Abstract: For a smooth projective variety X over C , the global sections of the symmetric algebra of the tangent bundle form a C-algebra S(X) , which has been little studied up to now. I will use a series of examples to show that this algebra is both interesting and difficult to calculate. Title: Flexible varieties, images of affine spaces, and ellipticity after Mikhail Gromov
Abstract: We define flexible affine algebraic varieties, describe their basic properties, and show that many varieties satisfy the flexibility condition. The group of special automorphisms acts in the regular locus of a flexible variety infinitely transitively, that is, any finite collection of smooth points can be sent to any finite collection of smooth points of the same cardinality. Using flexibility, one may show that every non-degenerate toric variety, every homogeneous space of a semisimple group, and every variety covered by affine spaces admits a surjective morphism from an affine space. Applying the ellipticity property introduced by Mikhail Gromov in 1989, we prove that a complete algebraic variety X is an image of an affine space if and only if X is unirational. This result is obtained in the joint work with Shulim Kaliman and Mikhail Zaidenberg. The research is supported by the RSF-DST grant 22-41-02019.

Title: On an endomorphism conjecture of Fano manifolds of Picard number one
Abstract: A classical question in algebraic and complex dynamics asks for a description of a Fano manifold of Picard number one admitting a non-isomorphic surjective endomorphism. A well-known conjecture asserts that the projective space is the only possibility for the existence of such an endomorphism. In this talk, after a brief review of the known results and related questions, I would like to report our recent progress toward this conjecture in the following two cases: (1) the tangent bundle of the Fano manifold is big, or (2) its Fano index is large. Title: Fano fourfolds with large anticanonical base locus
Abstract: A famous theorem of Shokurov states that a general anticanonical divisor of a smooth Fano threefold is a smooth K3 surface. This is quite surprising since there are several examples where the base locus of the anticanonical system has codimension two. In this paper we show that for four-dimensional Fano manifolds the behaviour is completely opposite: if the base locus is a normal surface, hence has codimension two, all the anticanonical divisors are singular. Title: Curves of genus three and Picard modular forms
Abstract: Some Shimura varieties can be interpreted as moduli spaces of curves. In such cases this can be used to get information about modular forms. We discuss a ball quotient related to moduli of curves of genus three. We study cohomology of local systems and calculate the traces of Hecke operators by counting points on curves over finite fields. We also construct all vector-valued Picard modular forms using invariant theory. This is joint work with Jonas Bergstroem and Fabien Clery.

Title: QQ-Fano 3-folds
Abstract: Non-singular Fano 3-folds were classified by Fano, Iskovskikh, Mori and Mukai, and are known to fall into 107 deformation families that are fairly well studied. The Mori category of projective 3-folds with terminal singularities is considerably more diverse. For many purposes, it is enough to concentrate on varieties with terminal orbifold points 1/r(1,a,r-a) as the only singular points. There are approximately 60,000 possible Hilbert series for these varieties, of which several hundred are known to occur. Many Hilbert series correspond to more than one family of QQ-Fano 3-folds having different Betti numbers. The talk will discuss some of the basic ideas in this classification, and outline some methods that can give useful information on different corners of this diverse kingdom.

Title: Frobenius manifolds and mirror symmetry
Abstract: Mirror symmetry was proposed originally by physicists as a certain duality in the theory of Calabi--Yau manifolds. It was observed by Givental that the mirror symmetry phenomena goes beyond the theory of Calabi--Yau manifolds. In my talk, I would like to give an overview of mirror symmetry for smooth projective manifolds (or more generally orbifolds) whose quantum cohomology is semi-simple. In this case, not only the mirror symmetry conjecture can be stated precisely but also there are many interesting ideas and tools available to expect that its proof should not be that difficult. What I find remarkable about the mirror symmetry in this case is that it allows us to construct a Frobenius manifold that has many interesting structures. I would like to explain what these structures are, how they arise from mirror symmetry, and to formulate several problems which I find important to solve

Title: Counting sheaves on K3 surfaces in 3 folds and 4 folds.
Abstract: We discuss the enumerative geometry of moduli spaces of sheaves with 2 dimensional support on K3 surfaces in K3-fibered threefolds and 4 folds. The reason to study such specific geometric setups is that these often provide computable invariants which govern deep information about geometry of moduli spaces of solutions to N=2 Super Yang-Mills theory on K3 surfaces, when the base surface is allowed to have deformations in ambient 3 folds or 4 folds. On the other hand the partition functions of these invariants, when set up suitably, have often outstanding properties, such as Mock modularity property, which allows computing all the invariants from only a few low degree invariants, using certain recursive relations induced by the mock modular form. This is based on earlier joint work with Amin Gholampour, and Yukinobu Toda, as well as recent ongoing discussions with Jeongseok Oh.

Title: Recent developments in the minimal model program for Kähler varieties.
Abstract: There are two main obstacles in extending the Minimal Model Program (MMP) for Kahler varieties: (i) given a compact Kahler manifold X, if the canonical bundle K_X is not nef, then does there exist a rational curve C\subset of X such that K_X\cdot C<0? (ii) If R is a K_X-negative extrema ray, can we contract it? When X is a projective variety, the positive answer to the first question comes from Mori’s famous Bend-Break theorem which involves reduction modulo prime characteristic, and thus not available for non-algebraic varieties. The second question also have positive answer in the projective case due to the Base-point free theorem, which says that if D is a nef supporting divisor of the extremal R and D-K_X is nef and big, then R can be contracted. However, a famous theorem of Moishezon says that if a compact Kahler manifold poses a big line bundle, then it is projective. Despite these tow major obstacles, in 2015–16, in a series of three papers, Campana, Höring and Peternell showed that if X is a compact Kahler 3-fold with terminal singularities, then MMP holds for X. They used deformation of curves on 3-folds to deal with Problem (i) and an ad-hoc contraction theorem of Fujiki for Problem (ii). Recently in a series of articles, jointly with Wenhao Ou, Christopher Hacon, Mihai Paun and Jose Yanez, we extended these results to dlt pairs in dimension 3 and some partial cases in dimension 4. Some of our methods are very different than those of Campana, Höring and Peternell and more suited for inductive arguments, which is desirable in higher dimensions. In this talk I survey the main results and techniques of our work.

Title: Locally stable degenerations of log Calabi-Yau pairs
Abstract: We study the birational boundedness of special fibers of log Calabi-Yau fibrations and Fano fibrations. We show that for a locally stable family of Fano varieties or polarised log Calabi-Yau pairs over a curve, if the general fiber satisfies some natural boundedness conditions, then every irreducible component of the special fiber is birationally bounded.

Title: Vanishing theorems for generalized pairs
Abstract: A generalised pair is roughly a pair together with a nef divisor on a birational model. The theory of generalized pairs plays an important role in various aspects of birational geometry, such as the proof of the Borisov-Alexeev-Borisov conjecture. In this talk, I will discuss our recent works on the Kodaira vanishing theorem and the Kawamata-Viehweg vanishing theorem for lc generalized pairs. As an application, I will talk about a new proof of the base-point-freeness theorem for lc generalized pairs. This new approach allows us to prove the contraction theorem for lc generalized pairs without using Kollar's gluing theory. This is a joint work with Jihao Liu and Lingyao Xie.

Title: On Oguiso's conjecture

Title: Minimal model program for generalised pairs
Abstract: Generalised pairs are a natural structure in birational geometry that first appeared in Kodaira’s canonical bundle formula for elliptic fibrations. They were formally introduced by Birkar and Zhang in 2014 as part of their study of effective Iitaka fibrations and have since become a central topic in modern-day birational geometry. In particular, they have been essential in Birkar proof of the Borisov-Alexeev-Borisov conjecture. Recently, the speaker, Hacon, and Xie have proven the cone theorem, contraction theorem, and the existence of flips for generalised pairs in a series of works. These results imply that we can run the minimal model program for generalised pairs. In this talk, I will discuss these results and their applications in the structure of Du Bois singularities and the minimal model program for foliations.

Title: The birational geometry of matroids
Abstract:In this talk, I will consider isomorphisms of Bergman fans of matroids. Motivated by algebraic geometry, these isomorphisms can be considered as matroid analogs of birational maps. I will introduce Cremona automorphisms of the coarsest fan structure. These produce a class of automorphisms which do not come from automorphisms of the underlying matroid. I will then explain that the automorphism group of the coarse fan structure is generated by matroid automorphisms and Cremona maps when the fan is 2-dimensional and also for modularly complemented matroids. I will assume no background on matroid theory for this talk. This is based on joint work with Annette Werner.

Title: Riemann-Hilbert problem for period integrals -- applications
Abstract: I will start with a brief introduction of the Riemann-Hilbert problem for periods of certain universal families of Calabi-Yau varieties. Two applications are discussed. The first application is about the describing the variety of zeros for certain special functions, which have a rather long history. Zeros of certain special functions have been of interests to people since the times of Riemann, who of course famously studied zeros of his zeta function. Stieltjes, Hilbert, Klein, Hurwitz and others studied the number of zeros of the Gauss hypergeometric function ${}_2F_1(a,b,c;z)$ for real $a,b,c$. Subsequently, many authors generalized their results to confluent hypergeometric functions. Eichler and Zagier gave a complete description of the zeros of the Weierstrass P-function in terms of a classical Eisenstein series. Duke and Imamo later used it to prove transcendence of values of certain classical generalized hypergeometric functions at algebraic arguments. Following Hille, Ki and Kim studied the zeros of generalized hypergeometric functions of the form ${}_pF_p$. For real parameters for such a function. In this lecture, I will discuss certain higher dimensional analogues of these functions and zeros of their derivatives. Examples include Gel'fand-Kapranov-Zelevinsky hypergeometric functions and period integrals of hypersurfaces in a homogeneous variety. Our second application of the Riemann-Hilbert problem is to confirm the hyperplane conjecture in mirror symmetry in a special case. This conjecture gives a simple cohomological description the periods of a universal family of Calabi-Yau in a toric manifold. This talk is based on joint work with J. Chen, A. Huang, S.-T. Yau, and M. Zhu. Some earlier joint work with S. Bloch, R. Song, V. Srinivas, and X. Zhu will also be discussed.

Title: An Albanese construction for Campana's C-pairs
Abstract: Almost twenty years ago, Campana introduced C-pairs to complex geometry. Interpolating between compact and non-compact geometry, C-pairs capture the notion of "fractional positivity" in the "fractional logarithmic tangent bundle". Today, they are an indispensible tool in the study of hyperbolicity, higher-dimensional birational geometry and several branches of arithmetic geometry. This talk reports on joint work with Erwan Rousseau. Aiming to construct a "C-Albanese variety", we clarify the notion of a "morphism of C-pairs" and discuss the beginnings of a Nevanlinna theory for "orbifold entire curves".

Title: Compactified Mirror Families for Log Calabi-Yau Surfaces
Abstract: In joint work with Yan Zhou, we show that given a smooth affine log Calabi-Yau surface U with maximal boundary, the ring of regular functions has a canonical vector space basis, up to scaling. In order to obtain this, we investigate the mirror family of Looijenga pairs (Y,D), where U=Y\D, as constructed by Gross-Hacking-Keel. These mirror families come with a basis parameterized by the integral tropical points of U. The key point we make is identifying U as a fiber of the mirror family of (Y,D). This is achieved through canonically compactifying the mirror family and computing periods of the compactified family using techniques from Ruddat-Siebert.

Title: Sparsity of rational points on moduli spaces
Abstract: Varieties, if they are at all complicated, are expected to have very few rational points. This might mean “there are only finitely many rational points” or “the rational points are contained in a proper closed subvariety.” Statements like these are extremely difficult to prove in any degree of generality, with Faltings’ finiteness theorem for rational points on high-genus curves a notable exception. In this talk, I’ll explain how to prove theorems about “sparsity” of rational points, a weaker notion which asks that the number of such with height less than B grows more slowly than any power of B; it turns out that theorems of this kind can be proven for many varieties appearing as moduli spaces (though these still make up a very special subclass among the varieties we’d like to know about.) The two main ingredients are: 1) a classical trick allowing us to “trade” a single equation that’s hard to solve for many equations that are easier to solve; 2) theorems of Heath-Brown type which provide bounds on points of bounded height on varieties which are uniform in the sense that they barely depend on what variety you’re studying. These are very useful when proving theorems about varieties of which we know almost nothing. This is joint work with Brian Lawrence and Akshay Venkatesh.

TITLE: Isoresidual fibration and resonance arrangements
ABSTRACT: Meromorphic 1-forms on the Riemann sphere with prescribed orders of singularities form strata endowed with period coordinates. Fixing residues at the poles defined a fibration of any stratum to the vector space of configurations of residues. For strata of 1-forms with only one zero, the isoresidual fibration is a cover of the space of configurations of residues ramified over an arrangement of complex hyperplanes. We give a formula to compute the degree of this cover and investigate its monodromy.The results are obtained using the dictionary between complex analysis and flat geometry of translation surfaces. The qualitative geometry of the latter translation surfaces is then classified by decorated trees, reducing the computation of the degree of the cover to a combinatorial problem. For strata with several zeroes, isoresidual fibers are complex manifolds endowed with a matrix-valued meromorphic differential. Singularities of the differential give insights on the topological invariants of the fibers. This is a joint work with Quentin Gendron.

Title: The relative minimal model program for excellent algebraic spaces and analytic spaces in equal characteristic zero
Abstract: In 2010, Birkar, Cascini, Hacon, and McKernan proved a relative version of the minimal model program for projective morphisms of complex quasi-projective varieties, called the relative minimal model program with scaling. Their result is now fundamental to our understanding of the birational classification of quasi-projective varieties and has numerous applications. In this talk, I will discuss recent joint work with Shiji Lyu that establishes the relative minimal model program with scaling for excellent schemes, excellent algebraic spaces, and analytic spaces simultaneously in equal characteristic zero. This not only recovers previous results for complex varieties, complex algebraic spaces, and complex analytic spaces, but also greatly extends the scope of the relative minimal model program with scaling to a broader class of geometric spaces, including formal schemes, rigid analytic spaces, and Berkovich spaces, all in equal characteristic zero. Our results for (non-algebraic) schemes and rigid analytic spaces were previously only known in dimensions ≤3 and ≤2, respectively, and our results for formal schemes and Berkovich spaces are completely new.

Title: CM minimization and special K-stability
Abstract: Odaka proposed a conjecture predicting that the degrees of CM line bundles for families with fixed general fibers are strictly minimized if the special fibers are K-stable. This conjecture is called CM minimization and a quantitative strengthening of the conjecture of separatedness of moduli spaces of K-stable varieties (K-moduli). This conjecture was already shown for K-ample (Wang-Xu), Calabi-Yau (Odaka) and Fano varieties (Blum-Xu). In this talk, we introduce a new class, special K-stable varieties, and settle CM minimization for them, which is a generalization of the above results. In addition, we would like to explain an important application of this, construction of moduli spaces of uniformly adiabatically K-stable klt trivial fibrations over curves as a separated Deligne-Mumford stack in a joint work with Kenta Hashizume to appear. Title: Refined Zariski cohomology numbers and applications
Abstract: Zariski cohomology groups of number fields (d=1) or arithmetic surfaces (d=2) miss the right duality with respect to i->d-i. We still do not know how to define the correct object H^1(D) for a fractional divisor D of a number field. However, following Iwasawa, Tate, Weil,..., A. Borisov it is possible to define cohomology numbers h^i when d=1, and get the right duality.
Towards d=2 our recent joint work with W. Cerniawska and P. Dolce defines and studies h^i for surfaces, using two-dimensional geometric adeles and selective integration over their subquotients. This leads to a beautiful adelic formula for the Euler characteristic of the surface and an extended divisor on it, and to a new higher adelic interpretation of the Arakelov intersection pairing. This study also provides a missing ingredient in the adelic study to the rank part of the Birch-Swinnerton-Dyer-Tate conjecture for elliptic curves over number fields.

I will explain how these conditions are related, at least conjecturally, to the existence of rational sections for Fano fibrations over surfaces.

Abstract: In this talk, I will introduce a recent result about bounding degrees of irrationality of degenerations of klt Fano fibrations of arbitrary dimensions. This proves the generically bounded case of a conjecture proposed by C. Birkar and K. Loginov for log Fano fibrations of dimensions greater than three. Our approach depends on a method to modify the klt Fano fibration to a toroidal morphism of toroidal embeddings with bounded general fibres. Moreover, we show that every fibre of the toroidal morphism is bounded and has mild singularities if we replace the birational modifications by alterations. This is a joint work with Prof. C. Birkar.

Abstract: In 1990 Tian-Yau proved that if Y is a Fano manifold and D is a smooth anti-canonical divisor, the complement X=Y\D admits a complete Calabi-Yau metric. I will discuss the resolution of this problem when D=D_1+D_2 has two components and simple normal crossings. Title : Zero-cycles on geometrically rational surfaces
Abstract: Let k be a field of characteristic zero. In 1974, D. Coray
showed that on a smooth cubic surface over k, with a point over a field extension K of k of degree prime to 3, there exists such a point over a field extension K over k of degree 1, 4 or 10 (as of today unsurpassed result). We show how a combination of generisation, specialisation, Bertini theorems and "large" fields avoids lengthy considerations of degeneracy cases in Coray's proof, and leads to more results. For smooth cubic surfaces with a rational point, we then show that any zero-cycle of degree at least 10 is Chow-rationally equivalent to an effective cycle. Using the k-birational classification of geometrically rational k-surfaces (Enriques, Manin, Iskovskikh, Mori), by a case by case discussion, we show how these two results have analogues for arbitrary smooth, projective, geometrically rational surfaces.

I will describe work with Soheyla Feyzbakhsh showing these generalised DT invariants in any rank r can be written in terms of rank 1 invariants. By the MNOP conjecture these rank 1 “abelian” invariants are determined by the GW invariants of X. Along the way we also express rank r DT invariants in terms of invariants counting “D4-D2-D0 branes”: rank 0 sheaves supported on surfaces in X. These invariants are predicted by physicists’ S-duality to be governed by (vector-valued, mock) modular forms.

Title: Deformations of singular Fano and Calabi-Yau varieties
Abstract: It is well known that Calabi-Yau manifolds have good deformation theory, which is controlled by Hodge theory. By work of Friedman, Namikawa, M. Gross, Kawamata, Steenbrink and others, some of these results have been extended to Calabi-Yau threefolds with canonical singularities. In this talk, I will report on further extensions in two directions: in dimension 3, we sharpen and clarify some of the existing results, and, secondly, we obtain some higher dimensional analogues. I will also briefly explain the related case of Fano varieties, where stronger results hold. One surprising aspect of our study is the role played by higher du Bois and higher rational singularities, notions that were recently introduced by Mustata, Popa, Saito and their collaborators. Abstract: I computed the automorphism groups of certain two models of supersingular K3 surfaces with Artin invariant one in Beijing 2019. One is over the binary and the other over ternary field. Recently I found two more models over the binary and quaternary fields. I will report their relation with prime Fano threefolds classified into 10 deformation types of degree (-K)^3=2g-2 with g=2,…,10 and 12, by Fano-Iskovskih. Our four models are related with g=7, 8, 9, 10 via three Leech-like lattices; Leech, Barnes-Wall and Coxeter-Todd. Another Leech-like lattice is related with g=12 via the regular 4-polytope {3,3,5}.

Abstract: Among varieties of general of fixed dimension, there are some known (or expected) constraints on their birational invariant. It is particularly interesting to study those varieties whose invariants achieve optimal values. In this talk, I am going to introduce some recent developments along this direction. One type of result is about asymptotic behavior of invariants, as dimension approaches infinity.
The other type of result is about explicit description of varieties with extremal invariants. For example, let d_X be the dimension of image of canonical map. If d_X=n, then one has that the canonical volume is greater than or equal to 2(p_g-n). If equality holds, then we call X to be a Horikawa variety. Various geometric properties of Horikawa varieties can be described very explicitly in the joint work with Bangere and Gallego. Various geometric structure of threefolds of general type with extremal invariants will be introduced as well.

Abstract: The talk is devoted to a simple combinatorial algorithm for explicit constructing minimal models of complex algebraic varieties defined by Laurent polynomials in algebraic torus of arbitrary dimension d>1. The considered algorithm proposes explicit combinatorial formulas for the Hodge-theoretic topological invariants of obtained minimal models. In the talk I will explain the main ideas of the algorithm and the corresponding combinatorial formulas in a way comprehesible for undergraduate students.

Abstract: Mnev's universality theorem asserts that every singularity type over the ring of integers appears in some thin Schubert cell of the Grassmannian Gr(3,E) for some vector space E. We construct sequential blowups of Gr(3,E) such that certain induced birational transforms of all thin Schubert cells become smooth over prime fields. This implies that every singular variety X defined over a prime field admits local resolutions. For a singular variety X over a general perfect field k, we spread it out and deduce that X/k admits local resolution as well.

Abstract: We construct smooth projective varieties of general type with the smallest known volume and others with the most known vanishing plurigenera in high dimensions. The optimal volume bound is expected to decay doubly exponentially with dimension, and our examples achieve this decay rate. We also consider the analogous questions for other types of varieties. For example, in every dimension we conjecture the terminal Fano variety of minimal volume, and the canonical Calabi-Yau variety of minimal volume. In each case, our examples exhibit doubly exponential behavior. (Joint work with Louis Esser and Chengxi Wang.)

Abstract: I will explain my recent construction, joint with Tony Yu, of the mirror to an affine log CY variety of an algebra with a canonical Mori theoretic basis and structure constants given by naive counts of Berkovich analytic disks. My main goal will be to convince you of the simplicity of the construction, both conceptually, and in technical detail. I will assume a basic understanding of algebraic geometry, but no background in Berkovich geometry. If time permits, I will explain the connection to our conjecture, joint with Paul Hacking, that very natural moduli spaces of log CY pairs are (up to finite cover) toric varieties.

Abatract: I will explain recent results on modular, geometrically meaningful compactifications of moduli spaces of K3 surfaces, most of which are joint with Philip Engel. A key notion is that of a recognizable divisor: a canonical choice of a divisor in a multiple of the polarization that can be canonically extended to any Kulikov degeneration. For a moduli of lattice-polarized K3s with a recognizable divisor we construct a canonical stable slc pair (KSBA) compactification and prove that it is semi toroidal. We prove that the rational curve divisor is recognizable, and give many other examples.

Abstract: A sheaf F on a normal projective variety X is called pre-tilting if all higher self-extensions vanish. F generates a subcategory in a bounded derived category of coherent sheaves D(X) which is equivalent to a bounded derived category D(R) of finitely generated modules over a finite dimensional associative algebra R = End(F), and D(X) has a corresponding semi-orthogonal decomposition. I will investigate what happens to F, R and D(X) if X has a deformation to a smooth projective variety Y. I take examples where X is a weighted projective surface which are deformed to a projective plane or a quadric Y by Q-Gorenstein smoothing. Then I will prove in general that a pre-tilting object F arising from a singularity which allows Q-Gorenstein smoothing is deformed to a direct sum of exceptional vector bundles found by Hacking. In particular, R is deformed to a direct product of matrix algebras.

Abstract: The Hodge bundle of a Riemann surface of genus g is a complex vector bundle of rank g over the moduli space of closed Riemann surfaces of genus g. On this space, there is an action by SL(2,R) that is poorly understood in algebraic geometric terms. The recent work of Eskin and Mirzakhani completed the (initial phase of the) classification of all orbit closures and invariant probability measures of this action using methods of ergodic theory. It would be desirable to extend the Teichmuller action to one on an appropriate bundle over the moduli space of a higher dimensional complex manifold, which would then allow the methods of ergodic theory to bear fruit. In this talk, my goal is to give an idea of the new area of research that would open up, should this extension be possible.

Title: Kohn-Rossi cohomology, complex Plateau problem and Rigidity of CR morphisms

Abstract: In this talk, we investigate the relationship between compact strongly pseudoconvex CR manifolds and the singularities of their Stein fillings. We first compute the dimensions of Kohn-Rossi cohomology groups with values in holomorphic vector bundles in terms of local cohomology groups. As an application, we solve the classical complex Plateau problem for compact strongly pseudoconvex CR manifolds when its Stein fillings has only isolated complete intersection singularities. Finally, using Kohn-Rossi cohomology, we obtain some sufficient conditions for the non-existence of CR morphisms between the links of isolated complete intersection singularities with different embedding codimensions. This is a joint work with Xiankui Meng.

Abstract: Hodge ideals, which are developed by Mustata and Popa, are important invariants of hypersurface singularities that arise naturally from Saito's theory of mixed Hodge modules. There are two diffierent approaches to study Hodge ideals: birational geomerty method by means of log resolution and D-module method by means of V-filtration. The theory of Hodge ideals connects these two diffierent fields and leads to a number of striking applications. In this talk, I will introduce the theory of Hodge ideals and talk about its application on the bound of roots of reduced Bernstein-Sato polynomial.

Abstract: While the properties of the anticanonical divisor $-K_X$ of a Fano variety $X$ and its multiples have been studied by many authors, the positivity of the tangent bundle $T_X$ is much more elusive. In this talk, I will introduce some invariants to measure the positivity of the tangent bundles of Fano varieties via their anti-canonical bundles and then I will discuss various interesting examples to illustrate the general situations. Abstract: Shokurov's ascending chain condition (ACC) conjecture for minimal log discrepancies (mlds) is a core conjecture in birational geometry and has a deep relationship with the minimal model program. In particular, in 2004, Shokurov shows that the ACC conjecture and the lower-semicontinuity conjecture for mlds will imply the termination of flips and will thus complete the minimal model program. In this talk, I will discuss some recent progress towards Shokurov's ACC conjecture and some related questions. Some parts of this talk are joint works with Jingjun Han, V.V. Shokurov, Liudan Xiao, and Lingyao Xie.
