Description:

This course will be an introduction to Donaldson-Thomas (DT) theory, in the classical sense: enumerative invariants of certain moduli spaces of coherent sheaves on complex smooth projective threefolds. Many significant advances in algebraic geometry in the last two decades are motivated by DT theory. We will mostly focus on developing its foundations from a modern perspective, e.g. how to construct the relevant moduli spaces and their obstruction theories. Later in the course, we will explore some open problems.

Prerequisite:

Familiarity with Hartshorne and the courage to read the Stacks Project
