Description: 

We will introduce the problems and methods on eigenfunctions of the Laplacian.Contents: Review of the Laplacian and the d'Alembertian, the Hadamard parametrix, the sharp Weyl formula, stationary phase and microlocal analysis, improved spectral asymptotics and periodic geodesics, classical and quantum ergodicity.

Real analysis, functional analysis

Bio:

Dr. Cheng Zhang is an assistant professor at Yau Mathematical Sciences Center. He obtained his PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 2019 under the supervision of Professor Christopher D. Sogge. His research is mainly in harmonic analysis and related problems. He has taught several courses at Johns Hopkins University and University of Rochester.
