On December 30, 2023, nearly 500 professors, researchers, students, and staff members from YMSC and Qiuzhen College of Tsinghua University, BIMSA, and Morningside Mathematics Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) gathered at the Huairou to celebrate the end of the year and welcomed the new one. The event reviewed the achievements of 2023, commended the faculty, staff, and students who have made outstanding contributions and looked forward to the future development of the discipline of Mathematics.
Under the leadership of Professor Shing-Tung Yau, the four institutions have excelled in talent acquisition, student training, international exchanges, scientific research, and disciplinary development, producing several exceptional mathematicians and young talents. Throughout the year, the institutions collaborated with a strong sense of unity and solidarity, successfully hosting hundreds of meetings, lectures, and seminars. These included the First International Conference of Basic Science, the International Mathematics Summer Camp, and the S.-T. Yau College Student Mathematics Contest, the Tsinghua Yau Summer Mathcamp, the S.-T. Yau High School Science Award, the S.-T. Yau High School Girls' Mathematics Contest, and the 10th Anniversary Meeting of the TSIMF. Numerous researchers and students have achieved satisfactory results. The staff was efficient in ensuring the smooth running of all the work.
The event presented several awards, including the Excellent Paper Award, Research Excellence Award, Employee Excellence Award, Distinguished Teaching Award, Qiuzhen Scholar Award, Qiuzhen Youmu Award, Qiuzhen Creative Paper Award, Qiuzhen Organization Award, Qiuzhen Noether Award, and Qiuzhen Counsellor Excellence Award.
