On the 21st of October 2023, an introductory session for Qiuzhen College students on research directions was held at the Jianhua Building of Tsinghua University. The meeting was attended by Professor Shing-Tung Yau, who delivered a speech motivating the students to accomplish top-notch research work during their stay in Qiuzhen.
18 professors from the YMSC 6 research teams: Representation Theory, Algebraic Geometry and Number Theory; Geometry and Topology; Analysis, Partial Differential Equation (PDE) and Dynamical Systems; Mathematical Physics; Applied Mathematics; Probability and Statistics, as well as Professor Su Liangjun from School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University, Mo Yilin, Feng Jiangjiang, and Qiao Hui from the Department of Automation also attended the meeting. They presented the latest topics related to the directions.
The meeting was chaired by Professor Yang Yuhong, Head of the YMSC research team in Probability and Statistics. Vice-deans of Qiuzhen College, Wang Xiaofang, Chen Zhijie, and Yitwah Cheung, attended the meeting alongside over 200 students.
The gathering aims to help students find tutors in the areas they are interested in, allowing them to connect with leading specialists in various fields.
