Recently, a joint research team from YMSC Tsinghua University, Yanqi Lake Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications, Beijing Forestry University, and Nankai University innovatively used mathematical tools to construct a statistical physics network model, the idopNetworks, to analyze the metabolic network model of different diseases and to investigate the underlying mechanisms of disease formation by using GLMY homology theory, which was developed by Professor Shing-Tung Yau and his collaborators.
The research results were recently published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS) under the title of "The metabolomic physics of complex diseases". This study provides new ideas for analyzing the causes of complex diseases, guiding the treatment of complex diseases, and related drug design.
