The BIMSA is a government
funded research institution co-sponsored by Beijing
Municipal Government and Tsinghua University. The
permanent site will be located in the Huairou District of Beijing, and be part
of the grand development of Huairou Science City. The designated director of
BIMSA is Prof. Shing-Tung Yau.
Goal: To promote
sciences and its applications that are related to Mathematics; To develop both
basic and applied Mathematics; To promote interdisciplinary subjects that will
be beneficial to the development of Mathematics; To be one of the top research
institutions in the world.
Scope: BIMSA will build
20 research groups focusing on (but
not restricting to) the following broadly defined research areas: (i) Mathematical
Physics and Theoretical Physics, (ii) Material
Sciences, (iii) Artificial
Intelligence and Big Data, (iv) Image
Science, (v) Large
Scale Modeling and Computation, (vi) Statistical
Methods and Applications, (vii) Quantum computing and applied number theory. Each research
group has about 20 researchers in various levels.

Tenure-track and Tenured positions
can apply for joint affiliation with Tsinghua University through Yau
Mathematical Sciences Center (YMSC). The current annual salary range is between 0.5-3.5 million RMB.
Salary will be determined by applicants' qualification. Strong promise/track
record in research are required.

Positions: BIMSA Research Fellowship
BIMSA invites
applications for research fellows in the full spectrum of mathematical
sciences. New and recent PhDs are encouraged for this position. A typical appointment for research fellow
of BIMSA is for two-years, renewable for the third year. The annual salary
ranges from 300,000 RMB to 500,000 RMB depending on experience and
qualifications. BIMSA offers very competitive packages.
