ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The
advent of blockchain popularized a revolutionary vision of next generation
Internet and decentralized ecosystem. Underlying this grand vision are new
technologies based on the ingenious use of cryptography. BIMSA’s advanced cryptography
and blockchain program aims to focus on these areas. We intend to build a
team which can combine the first-class theoretical researches with top level
practical implementations, converting highly sophisticated mathematics into
useful tools suitable for the industrial and society in general.
OPEN
POSITIONS
The
program has 15-20 open positions for advanced cryptography and blockchain
studies. Scholars or practitioners with mathematics or computer science
background are welcome to apply.

and Tenured positions can apply for joint affiliation with Tsinghua University
through Yau Mathematical Sciences Center (YMSC).
The
annual salary range is 0.5-3.5 million RMB, to be determined by the applicant’s
qualifications. Strong promise/track record in research are required.
BIMSA Research Fellowship
This
position is suitable for new and recent PhDs, or experienced practitioners
skilled in programming and IT implementations.
A
typical appointment for research fellow is for two-years, renewable for the
third year.
Typical
annual salary range is 0.3-0.5 million RMB. BIMSA offers very competitive
packages. Upward adjustments on individual bases is possible for applicants
with special skills (such as software architecture and implementation in the
relevant fields).

About BIMSA
Beijing
Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications (BIMSA) is a research
institution co-sponsored by Beijing Municipal Government and Tsinghua
University, expected to be lauched in March 2020. The establishment of BIMSA is
an important part of a national plan to build the comprehensive Huairou Science
Center, located in Huairou District of Beijing, in the beautiful Yanqi Lake
area where APEC 2014 was hosted. The designated director of BIMSA is Professor Shing-Tung
Yau, a Fields medalist of 1982.
BIMSA
promotes strong interactions between theoretical researches and practical
applications. Presently, it has plans to build 20 research groups covering
diverse fields of mathematical sciences. The “advanced cryptography and
blockchain program” is one of such groups.
