Key exchange has been a research subject in Cryptography in the past 70 years.   In particular, people have been interested in establishing a common key to encrypt and decrypt their messages over insecure channels without exchanging one beforehand for decades. As a result, public key cryptography was born based on the seminal work from Whitefield Diffie and Martin Hellman in 1976. I will present a brief introduction to key exchange protocols in public key cryptography, including some definitions and assumptions in the presentation. Furthermore, I will present a group key exchange protocol with a shortened security proof.

Weizheng Gao graduated with a PhD in Mathematics from Florida Atlantic University in 2012 under the supervision of Dr. Steinwandt. He had worked to develop different software products since the graduation.
