Description:
The aim of the course is to give an introduction to the mirror construction by Gross-Seibert. We will begin with the semi-flat SYZ construction as a motivation to the Gross-Seibert construction. We will cover toric degenerations and logarithmic geometry, as a tool to understand mirror symmetry. Most of the time, we will illustrate the ideas mainly using examples.

Prerequisite:
Basic toric geometry, complex geometry and algebraic geometry

1. Tropical Geometry and Mirror Symmetry, Mark Gross
2. An invitation to toric degenerations, Mark Gross and Bernd Seibert
