Title: Abelian Varieties
Abstract: The course will give a general introduction to abelian varieties, including complex analytic theory, general algebraic theory (over an arbitrary field), duality, endomorphism algebras, and some special results over finite fields, global fields (and local fields if time permits). Emphasis will be put on the algebraic and arithmetic sides of the theory. Familiarity with the theory of schemes (e.g. Chapter 2 and 3 of Hartshorne’s Algebraic geometry) will be very helpful. We will use Mumford’s Abelian varieties as the textbook.

Title: Quiver Hecke Algebras and applications
Abstract: Quiver Hecke algebras play a prominent role in representation theory - they provide algebraic categorification of quantum groups, and they control symmetries on representations of Lie algebras and algebraic groups. More and more applications of these algebras are being discovered. In particular, recent series of works by Kang-Kashiwara-Kim-Oh-Park reveal deep links between quiver Hecke algebras, quantum affine algebras and monoidal categorification of cluster algebras. In this course, we will give an introduction to these topics.

We mainly focus on those types of Shimura varieties which admit moduli interpretations (e.g. moduli space of principally polarized abelian varieties with level structures).  We will also discuss canonical models and integral models for Shimura varieties.

Title: Activated random walks on Z^d

Abstract: Some stochastic systems are particularly interesting as they exhibit critical behavior without fine- tuning of a parameter, a phenomenon called self-organized criticality. In the context of driven-dissipative steady states, one of the main models is that of Activated Random Walks. Long-range effects intrinsic to the conservative dynamics and lack of a simple algebraic structure cause standard tools and techniques to break down. This makes the mathematical study of this model remarkably challenging. Yet, some exciting progress has been made in the last ten years, with of a framework of tools and methods which is finally becoming more structured. In this mini-course we present the existing results and explain the techniques developed so far.

Title: Large deviation principles of Schramm-Loewner evolutions
Abstract: The theory of large deviations (LDP) concerns the asymptotic behavior of the probability of rare events under a sequence of probability measures. Schramm-Loewner evolution (SLE) is a one-parameter family of random fractal non-self-crossing curves that arise naturally as interfaces in two-dimensional conformally invariant systems. After explaining the basic ideas and results on LDP and SLE, we describe the large deviations of SLE in two regimes: when the parameter goes to 0 and to infinity. The rate functions of these LDPs are interesting in their own, especially from the point of view of geometric function theory. The LDPs of SLEs then allow us to derive several new results in geometric function theory, by giving probabilistic interpretation to deterministic objects.

Title: Topics in Analysis of Many Particle Systems

Abstract: This summer course will present some mathematical tools and concepts for the rigorous derivation and study of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDE's) arising from many-particle limits: (McKean-)Vlasov type equations, the vorticity formulation of the 2D incompressible Euler/Navier-Stokes equations, Boltzmann collision equations, nonlinear diffusion equations, quantum Hartree equations... Depending on time and interest it will include part or all of the following topics: the Liouville/Master equations of N-particle systems, the notion of empirical measures, the BBGKY hierarchy,the Hewitt-Savage theorem, the Dobrushin's stability estimate, the coupling method, the concepts of chaos and entropic chaos, the recent progresses on the mean-_eld limit, in particular, the relative entropy/modulated potential energy/modulated free energy methods as introduced in:
